The Murray Darling Basin is part of a natural geog

The Murray Darling Basin is part of a natural geographic of land, where an ancient inland ocean once flourished.

Ocean sediments, the weathering of rocks and rainfall over millions of years formed the Murray/Darling Basin’s landscapes and rivers.

It channels water from most of inland Victoria, New South Wales, and southern Queensland from the western side of the Great Australian Divide.

It is fed by several rivers including the Darling and Murrumbidgee on it’s journey from the Australian Alps before flowing through South Australia to the Southern Ocean.

The Murray Darling Basin groundwater systems hold more than 100,000 million tonnes of salt. Salinity occurs naturally in groundwater, however human practices such as irrigation and land clearing caused water tables to rise, bringing salt to the surface and into rivers.

Managing salinity is one of the biggest challenges in the Murray–Darling Basin.

If it’s not properly managed, salinity degrades water quality, hinders plant growth, reduces biodiversity and agricultural productivity, and means poor quality water is available for human consumption.

We recommend finely dicing everything by hand instead of using a food processor as you completely change the texture. Also make sure you leave to sit for at least 30 minutes and adjust seasoning to taste after 15. We always recommend @murrayriversalt""

This is a must try recipe ⬇️

Ingredients;
1 shallot, finely chopped
1 red jalapeño, finely chopped
4 garlic cloves, finely chopped
1/2 cup red wine vinegar
2 tsp #murrayriversalt
1/2 cup finely chopped coriander
1/4 cup finely chopped parsley
2 tbsp finely chopped oregano
3/4 cup extra virgin olive oil

Method;
Chop up all the ingredients by hand, it’ll always taste better than the food processor! Make sure you let it sit for the flavours to infuse before serving.
